As time goes on, it could be a clever selling point for Sony to lean on to push the PS5. Kraken will truly begin to shine once third-party studios drop development for PS4 and Xbox One, allowing teams to focus purely on optimizing the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of their games. Console exclusives will likely be the first set of titles to see any sort of consistent file reduction thanks to Kraken as studios like Insomniac Games, Sony Santa Monica, and Sucker Punch only have to concern themselves with developing games for PS5. That said, Kraken's file compression will only become more apparent as time goes and more titles release on PS5. Given the PS5 has only been available for around a year, there are not many titles currently out that highlight the advantage Kraken gives the system. This is beneficial for PS5 owners simply because it will let them keep more games on the system at a time without deleting games or exporting them to an additional storage device. Kraken is a small, but very useful, feature in the PS5 console that helps with file compression and reducing overall file size on the platform. Zuby credits this to the Kraken compression tech inside the PS5. Guardians of the Galaxy on PS5 comes in with an install file size of roughly 31GB. The PS5 version's install file, by comparison, came in at nearly half the size as pointed out by self-described "tech enthusiast" and "PS gamer" Zuby_Tech on Twitter. RELATED: Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Achievement/Trophy List Revealedĭespite being a single-player only title, the latest Square Enix Marvel game comes with a relatively large install file for PS4 owners at about 59GB. This leads Star-Lord, Gamora, Drax, Rocket, and Groot on a journey across the stars where they also cross paths with the likes of Adam Warlock and the Nova Corps while trying to stop Raker and the church. After the team's latest job ends in a seemingly small accident, the Guardians find themselves in the crosshairs of the Church of Universal Truth and its leader, Grand Unifier Raker.

Guardians of the Galaxy follows the team as they navigate the galaxy still recovering from a massive war which left several major powers weakened. That said, PlayStation players may need to be wary of which platform they are getting it on thanks to a notably different file size between PS4 and PS5.
Whether they are on Xbox or PlayStation, players will be able to enjoy the misadventures of Marvel's band of cosmic heroes with the current generation platforms being available for less than a year. Like so many games currently available, players have no shortage of platform choices for Square Enix and Eidos Montreal's Guardians of the Galaxy game.
